Variation in fasting and postprandial amino acids of men fed adequate or protein-free diets.

چکیده
R APID, RELIABLE, and sensitive criteria of protein-nutrition status are essential to diagnosis of subclinical deficiency. Several investigators have suggested that the amount or pattern, or both, of free amino acids in plasma is one such index. Generally, essential amino acids (EAA) are found to be reduced and the nonessential ones (NEAA) to be elevated in plasma of children suffering from protein-deficiency disease (1-6). Similar alterations have been recorded in men experimentally deprived of protein (7-9). However, some workers have not found amino acid ratios to be fully reliable indicators of clinical status (10). Evaluations based on field samples are complicated by the fact that plasma amino acid levels are not constant throughout the day (11-12). Concentrations also vary widely within and between individuals ingesting self-selected uncontrolled diets (8, 13). This report presents fasting and postprandial serum amino acid patterns of healthy men fed precise formula diets containing either an adequate amount or no protein. There is large intraand interindividual variation not ascribable to limited duration of constant feeding of either diet, as well as expected variation

Effect of Diets Formulated on the Basis of Four Critical Essential Amino Acids on Performance and Blood Biochemical Indices of Broiler Finisher Chickens Reared under Tropical Environment
A study was conducted in a completely randomized design to evaluate the effect of diets formulated on the basis of four critical essential amino acids (lysine, methionine, tryptophan and threonine) on the crude protein requirement, carcass quality, nutrient digestibility, haematological and blood biochemical indices of broiler finisher chickens (28-56 days) reared under tropical environment. On...

In order to study the effects of various levels of protein in diet based on total and digestible amino acids on performance and carcass traits of broilers, an experiment was conducted as a completely randomized design with 288 broiler chicks from Cobb 500 strain in 6 treatments, each treatment consist of 3 replicates with 16 chicks per replicate. Treatments were the diets as follow: 1) diet for...

An experiment was conducted to determine apparent ileal digestibility of crude protein (CP) and amino acids (AA) and digestible CP and AA of fish meal (FM) in 21-d-old broiler chickens using the regression technique. Four diets containing 0, 1, 2, and 3% FM in place of cornstarch were formulated with FM as the sole contributor of CP and AAs in the sequential diets. Eighty 14-d-old broiler chick...
